We believe the world’s fastest driver hasn’t raced…yet. 

FAT Karting League’s mission is to achieve mass participation in motorsport by radically reducing the barriers to entry. 

We run karting events across the UK throughout the year to cater for drivers with different levels of experience, that creates a pathway from age 6-17. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working procurement and logistics specialist - with a passion for motorsport - to join our technical team.  

You will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and purchasing goods and services essential for the company’s operations. This role ensures that procurement activities are cost-effective, high quality, and aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives. Additional responsibilities include supporting the logistics of event deployment and product build at internationally distributed sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and other factors.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors and suppliers.

  • Manage the purchasing process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely receipt of goods and services.

  • Maintain supplier relationships and resolve issues related to pricing, quality, or delivery.

  • Support the logistics process for event deployment and building of products in current and future hubs.

  • Analyse procurement data and prepare reports to support management decisions.

  • Collaborate with internal departments (such as Engineering, Operations and Finance) to understand procurement needs and requirements.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking to avoid shortages or overstock.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.

  • Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of procurement strategies.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment, with occasional visits to supplier sites.

  • Some international travel may be required depending on the supplier base and project needs.

Job requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

  • 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • Solid analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of contracts and supplier relationship management principles.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification (such as CPSM, CPP, or CIPS).

  • Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar.

  • Industry-specific procurement experience (e.g., manufacturing, electronics and new technology).
