    • Dallas, Texas, United States
  • FAT Karting League

Job description

Kart Mechanic – FAT Karting League (Texas / Travel Role)

We believe the world’s fastest driver hasn’t raced… yet.

At FAT Karting League, our mission is to open up motorsport to the next generation by breaking down barriers to entry. We’re building a competitive, high-quality karting platform for drivers aged 6–17, and we’re looking for mechanics who want to be part of that journey.

Why join us?

This isn’t a back-of-the-garage role. You’ll be working at the heart of a growing race program—preparing karts, supporting live race events, and helping deliver competitive performance on track.

If you’re looking to build a long-term career in motorsport, this is an opportunity to get hands-on experience across all aspects of race operations—not just a narrow role in a large team.

  • Be part of a fast-growing motorsport startup

  • Work both in the workshop and trackside at race events

  • Gain exposure to race prep, operations, and performance environments

  • Take on real responsibility from day one

  • Grow with the team as we expand our program

The role

  • Maintain and prepare a fleet of electric race karts

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues under race conditions

  • Support kart operations at live events across Texas (and sometimes further afield)

  • Assist with event logistics and equipment setup

  • Ensure karts are race-ready to a high standard at all times

What we’re looking for

  • At least 1 year of mechanical experience (karts, cars, motorbikes, or similar)

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • A genuine passion for motorsport

Don’t tick every box?
If you’ve got solid mechanical skills and the drive to build a career in motorsport, we still want to hear from you.

Location & travel

  • Workshop-based during the week

  • Regular travel to race events across Texas on weekends

  • Opportunity for out of state travel during periods not racing in Texas

Benefits

  • Medical coverage (Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield) after 90 days

  • Access to telehealth and mental health support (EAP)

  • Wellness incentives

  • Opportunity to grow with a scaling motorsport program

Job requirements

We are looking for a mechanic with at least a year’s experience to join our team to assist in the preparation and maintenance of karts. Ideally you should have experience with race cars, motorbikes or karts.

If you have the mechanical skills in other areas, and want to develop a career in motorsport, we would still like to hear from you.
