Job description
At Smedley Group Advanced Technology, we innovate at the intersection of motorsport and cutting-edge software. As part of our growing engineering division, you’ll help shape the future of race operations, data systems, and digital platforms for our in-house FAT Karting League, a global championship pushing boundaries in motorsport.
The Role
We’re looking for two Junior Software Developers - recent graduates or individuals with equivalent experience - who are ready to contribute from day one.
You’ll work closely with our Senior Software Architect, Software Developer, and our mechanical and simulation engineers in a fast-paced, collaborative team.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills across multiple domains of software and motorsport technology, including:
Event operations tools
Commercial websites
Telemetry and race data systems
Our Stack
You don’t need to know everything on day one - we’re committed to supporting your development through a structured onboarding and training programme. But here’s what we’re working with:
Languages & Frameworks: C#, TypeScript, Python
Frontend: Angular
Backend & APIs: ASP.NET Core
Cloud: AWS
Tools: Git, Docker, MATLAB (beneficial)
Job requirements
What We’re Looking For
Required:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
Solid programming fundamentals
Familiarity with at least one of the core technologies (C#, TypeScript, or Python)
The ability to attend our office in Oxfordshire for a minimum of 3 days a week
Nice to Have:
A strong interest in motorsport
Experience with Angular, .NET Core, or AWS
Exposure to MATLAB
Projects (personal or academic) that show off your initiative and problem-solving
