Job description

Junior Motorsport Hub Manager

Midwest Hub – Indianapolis, Indiana
Region: United States

A Leadership Role at the Heart of a Growing Motorsport Platform

FAT Karting League is redefining grassroots motorsport. Our electric karting championship has rapidly expanded across the UK and United States, removing over 95% of traditional costs and opening professional-level racing to a new generation of drivers and families.

With the Midwest operation already established and growing, we are now seeking a Motorsport Hub Manager to continue its successful delivery following an internal promotion. This is a structured, hands-on leadership role combining weekday operational management with weekend event delivery, ideal for someone with motorsport or live events experience who values organisation, teamwork, and consistently high standards.

The Role

As Motorsport Hub Manager, you will be responsible for the operational performance of the Midwest championship, overseeing planning, budgeting, mechanical preparation, staffing, and race weekend delivery.

The role is split between office and workshop-based administration and trackside leadership on event weekends. During the Midwest off-season, you will also support FAT Karting League’s wider US operations, potentially travelling with the kart fleet to warmer regions of the country to assist other hubs during winter months.

Key Responsibilities

Hub Operations & Administration

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Midwest Hub, ensuring alignment with HQ standards and processes

  • Be based in the workshop or office a minimum of three working days per week

  • Plan and deliver race events annually across the Midwest

  • Maintain accurate schedules, reports, and planning documentation using Microsoft 365 tools

  • Manage event budgets, with a strong emphasis on cost control and financial discipline

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality

Mechanical & Workshop Leadership

  • Lead the mechanical team in the preparation, maintenance, and readiness of the kart fleet for each event

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained to a consistently high standard

  • Oversee the introduction and implementation of technical upgrades as they are released

  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure smooth rollout and reliable race-weekend execution

Event Delivery

  • Lead all aspects of race weekend execution, including track coordination, staffing, scheduling, and contingency planning

  • Act as the senior on-site decision maker during events

  • Ensure events are delivered safely, professionally, and within budget

  • Maintain compliance with internal processes and performance targets

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and manage full-time and part-time staff for hub operations and events

  • Set clear expectations and provide direction before, during, and after events

  • Conduct post-event reviews to drive continuous improvement

Customer Experience

  • Ensure a high-quality experience for drivers, families, and partners

  • Act as the escalation point for customer issues, resolving them calmly and professionally

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to support event occupancy and customer satisfaction

Job requirements

You Will Bring:

  • Experience in motorsport, karting, or live sports event operations (preferred, not essential)

  • Proven experience working with budgets and an understanding of the importance of cost control

  • Strong organisational and planning skills

  • Confidence leading teams in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments

  • Clear communication skills and a calm, professional approach under pressure

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word

  • A valid US driver’s license

Travel & Availability

  • Weekend availability is essential during the Midwest racing season

  • Willingness to travel extensively across the Midwest for race events

  • During the winter months (approximately five months of the year), the Midwest kart fleet relocates to warmer regions in the southern United States

  • Availability and willingness to travel nationally during this period to support other US hubs is a key part of the role

Why Join FAT Karting League?

  • Step into a proven, well-established Midwest championship with strong operational foundations

  • Take on a role with genuine responsibility and clear progression opportunities

  • Be part of a mission-driven organisation expanding access to motorsport across the US

  • Work alongside a committed, like-minded team that values professionalism and high standards

  • Competitive compensation and benefits

This role offers the opportunity to lead a major regional championship, develop professionally within a growing motorsport organisation, and play a meaningful part in the future of grassroots racing in the United States.
