Job description
Job Title: Motorsport Mechanic
Location: Bushnell with travel to tracks
About FAT Karting League:
FAT Karting League is a high-performance motorsport business built around competition, precision, and experience. We deliver organised racing environments where attention to detail, consistency, and teamwork are critical to success - on and off the track.
As a growing organisation, we’re building more than just a karting league. With plans to expand into other areas of motorsport, we’re creating opportunities for people who want to grow with the business and develop their careers as we scale. We’re looking for driven individuals who thrive in fast-paced, energetic settings, take pride in high standards, and are motivated by responsibility, progression, and being part of something that’s moving forward.
Role Summary
This isn’t a back-of-the-garage role. You’ll be working at the heart of a growing race program—preparing karts, supporting live race events, and helping deliver competitive performance on track. If you’re looking to build a long-term career in motorsport, this is an opportunity to get hands-on experience across all aspects of race operations, not just a narrow role in a large team.
Join a fast-growing motorsport startup where you’ll work both in the workshop and trackside at race events, gaining hands-on exposure to race preparation, operations, and high-performance environments. From day one, you’ll take on real responsibility and play an important role within the team, with exciting opportunities to grow and develop as the programme continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and prepare a fleet of electric race karts
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues under race conditions
Support kart operations at live events across different locations
Assist with event logistics and equipment setup
Ensure karts are race-ready to a high standard at all times
Job requirements
What we’re looking for
At least 1 year of mechanical experience (karts, cars, motorbikes, or similar)
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
A genuine passion for motorsport
Don’t tick every box?
If you’ve got solid mechanical skills and the drive to build a career in motorsport, we still want to hear from you.
Location & travel
Workshop-based during the week
Regular travel to race events on weekends
Benefits (available after successful probation):
Private medical insurance
Pension scheme with salary sacrifice option
Life assurance (death in service)
33 days holiday including bank holidays
Childcare support via salary sacrifice
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
Free GP service

We strive to be a team that supports diversity in the workplace and promotes an inclusive culture in which all team members are respected, empowered, and valued.
